The Jumbo Roll Winder JRW 1550 was developed specifically for handling jumbo rolls in large format printing (LFP) and in downstream finishing processes. As a multifunctional solution, the JRW 1550 can be used both as an unwinder for feeding material into printers and as a rewinder behind printing or laminating systems. Designed to be mobile on casters, the system can be moved flexibly and locked precisely in the required position via mechanical stations.
Thanks to its self-contained control via a dancer-roller system, no electrical interface to the main machine's PLC is required; material flow is regulated purely by tension, with the JRW 1550 maintaining constant web tension at all times. This enables the efficient processing of rolls weighing up to 700 kg and up to 60 cm in diameter. Using jumbo rolls of up to 1,500 lm cuts material costs through bulk stock, optimises freight costs on direct imports and minimises the material loss typical of roll changes.
Whether as a self-contained unwinder or a robust rewinding unit for laminating systems, the JRW 1550 maximises productive machine uptime in shift operation.
