AFP 400
The AFP 400 is a servo-driven flatbed die-cutting and embossing machine for roll stock up to 410 mm web width. Laminating, die-cutting or embossing and rewinding run in a single pass — the tool alone decides the process.
The AFP 400
in detail.
The AFP 400 takes self-adhesive films, adhesive tapes, foams, paper and composite materials from the roll to the finished die-cut part or the embossed web. One machine base, two processes: steel-rule or etched dies kiss-cut or through-cut, while male and female dies emboss.
The material runs from the braked unwind through the laminating station into the flatbed press. A servo feed advances the web precisely with each cycle, optionally registered to print marks. The waste matrix and the liner or product are taken up on two motorised rewinders with adjustable winding tension.
The press stroke comes from a 7.5 kW servo drive. Cutting pressure, stroke rate and feed can be finely adjusted. The die sits on a pull-out die carrier and its angle can be readjusted while it is mounted. Two machines can be linked into a line — for embossing and die-cutting in a single pass, for instance.
What the AFP 400 can do.
Die-cutting and embossing on one machine — the tool alone decides the process.
- Die-cutting and embossing on one machine — kiss-cutting, through-cutting, blind and texture embossing; the die decides the process.
- 7.5 kW servo main drive — up to 160 strokes/min; single stroke, continuous and jog modes.
- Servo feed — ±0.1 mm; two programmable feed lengths, e.g. for groups with a large gap after every tenth unit.
- Print-mark control — register die-cutting on printed material, switchable light/dark mark, search run to the next mark during set-up.
- Laminating station — feeds in liner, transfer or protective film before die-cutting; also laminating only, without a press stroke.
- Braked unwind, two motorised rewinders — pneumatic 3" expanding shafts, winding tension and winding speed infinitely adjustable.
- Splice and end-of-material detection — marked splices are detected, and the machine stops at the end of the material.
- Piece and batch counter — preset quantity per batch, batch counting.
- Easy set-up — cutting pressure via spindle, handwheel for turning by hand, pull-out die carrier with angle correction.
- Line operation — two machines linked via a sensor-monitored material loop.
- Operation — 7" touch panel, multilingual, Mitsubishi PLC.
- Safety — light curtains guarding the press area (left, right, rear), emergency stop.
Figures you can rely on.
Stroke rate and accuracy depend on feed length, material and die. 160 strokes/min apply to short feeds — at a 400 mm feed with embossing, around 60 strokes/min. Full data sheet as a PDF on request.
