From engineering office
to global market leader.
Founded as an engineering office
Konrad Franke and Christoph Weber found an engineering office in Upper Bavaria — initially specialising in technology components, including for the Soviet Union.
Reorientation towards film converting
Following the collapse of the USSR, Fabian Franke and Bernhard Schmidt take over the company and focus it on film converting.
First rewinding machine
The first rewinding machine is presented as a prototype at FESPA in Munich — the start of today's product line.
ConvertPlus goes live
Shortly after the first rewinding machine, the first version of the ConvertPlus control software is released — the digital backbone of our machines, later developed further into ConvertPlus2.
ICE Award for the DL 1650 Film Separator
The DL 1650 Film Separator — a world first for delaminating self-adhesive films — is honoured with the ICE Award.
Colour fans & colour charts across Europe
With our own industrial production process, we expand the contract business for colour fans and colour sample charts — supplying vinyl film manufacturers and the paint and coatings industry across Europe.

Today the Nepata Group consists of three companies (Nepata GmbH, Nepata Vertrieb GmbH and Nepata Systems GmbH) based in Wolnzach — global market leader in film converting, active in more than 20 countries.
