For even better and faster winding: We have just developed a new braking system for the unwinding shaft. The modified unwinding mechanism offers greater braking power. This results in a higher maximum braking torque and greater web tension. These are the benefits when winding:
- Tighter winding: High web tension results in more compact rolls.
- Improved winding: Thin and self-adhesive media can be wound more smoothly.
- Faster winding: Large, heavy rolls can be unwound at a much higher speed. Previously, only low speeds were possible here in order to
- rewinding process. The rewinding process is also faster for standard rolls.
On models fitted with a slitting unit, slitting results are also significantly improved when the rolls are wound more tightly. The operator can preset the desired web tension using a rotary knob. The braking and drive forces required for this are automatically regulated. The new braking system will be available as an option for all new NEPATA rewinders from summer 2020. It is not possible to retrofit older models.
