Unwinding extra-large rolls – that’s what the NEPATA Jumbo Companion can do.

Due to their design, our rewinders are limited to roll diameters of 40 cm – which is sufficient for standard vinyl rolls. If the machine is fitted with the Jumbo Companion, so-called jumbo rolls with a diameter of up to 100 cm and a weight of 500 kg can be unwound.
The Jumbo Companion can be operated on a converting centre or a rewinding machine. The Jumbo Companion is available in two working widths – as the JC1650 to complement all NEPATA machines in the UA1650 series, and as the JC770 for the UA770 variants.
Using machinery twice as a vinyl film reseller
As a vinyl film reseller, this allows you to utilise part of the machine’s capacity for mass production: you source jumbo rolls from manufacturers and convert them into standard rolls of 25, 50 or 100 metres. In between, the machine can be used again – without any retooling – as the familiar flexible, precise and ergonomic rewinder/slitter for individual rolls and special orders.
Many vinyl films and similar products are manufactured in Asia but are primarily sold in Europe, the USA or even Oceania. Vinyl film resellers can save up to 70 per cent on sea freight costs by sourcing jumbo rolls directly from manufacturers. These are only converted into standard-sized rolls once they reach the destination country. Processing vinyl films, paper and nonwovens
The master rolls in the jumbo unwinder are loaded onto tension shafts with a diameter of either 3 inches or 6 inches. The material is fed into the rewinding machine from the rear via a dancer system. Thanks to a smart web-guiding system, the material is only touched on its underside. Despite the limited number of deflection points, we have been able to implement electronic web tension control even at high winding speeds. The JC models can process a wide range of film materials, papers and non-wovens.
